Page Morph (Pre-Recording HTML Editing)

Page Morph lets you edit the content of a webpage before you begin recording with Arcade. This is a powerful way to clean up pages, hide sensitive information, or personalize demos without needing any developer tools.

What is Page Morph?

Page Morph allows you to edit any visible text or element on a webpage before recording an Arcade. These edits persist even if you click around or refresh the page — giving you complete control over how the page looks during capture.

How do I enable Page Morph?

Page Morph is a part of our Growth plan:

1. Open the Chrome Extension.

2. Click the Capture Settings dropdown.

3. Select Edit Page

After that, every new Arcade you record will automatically save the edited version.

How do I make edits with Page Morph?

1. Navigate to the webpage you want to edit.

2. Open the Chrome extension and start preparing your capture.

3. Simply click on any text on the page and modify it directly.

4. The edited text will remain as-is while you record.

Edits will persist even if you click through or reload the page.

How can I remove or reset Page Morph edits?

If you’ve made edits, you’ll see a popup at the bottom of the screen that says:

"This domain has edits."

To remove the changes:

1. Click Edit.

2. Select the undo button to restore the original content.

What are some use cases for Page Morph?

Page Morph is especially useful for:

• Personalizing a demo with a prospect’s name or company

• Removing private customer data from the screen before recording

• Cleaning up visual clutter for a sharper, more focused walkthrough

• Fixing typos or placeholder content on early-stage product pages

How can I anonymize names and numbers?

Page morph is your best option to do this! Available on Growth, you'll be able to anonymize any names and numbers before you start your recording.

Post-Record HTML Editing

After you record an Arcade with Page Morph enabled, you can continue editing HTML content directly in the editor — no re-recording required for most changes. Post capture HTML editing is only available on our Enterprise plans, please reach out to [email protected] if interested in seeing or learning more.

How do I edit HTML after recording?

Once you've finished capturing your Arcade:

1. Open the editor.

2. On the right-hand toolbar, click the HTML icon (appears for steps that support editing).

3. A modal window will appear where you can edit any HTML content captured during recording.

Note: Only steps recorded with HTML capture enabled will be editable in this way.

Is HTML capture safe?

Yes. Captured HTML is never exposed to your viewers.

Only you and your team can access and edit this HTML from within the Arcade editor. For viewers, the Arcade behaves the same as one without HTML editing — all changes remain behind the scenes.

Can I edit video steps using captured HTML?

Not yet. Editing HTML is currently supported only on interactive steps.

If you need changes to appear in video steps, make your edits before recording using Page Morph. We’re actively working to expand support for video HTML editing.

What should I do if something doesn't work?

Bugs may appear — especially in complex apps, please contact our team if you find any issues.

If your page isn’t captured or editable as expected, reach out to our Support team over Intercom (bottom right help icon). Every app is different, and we’re expanding support based on what we learn from users like you.
