Getting Started
What is commenting in Arcade?
Commenting lets people add feedback directly on an Arcade. Viewers, teammates, and even external customers can share thoughts, reactions, or questions in a thread next to your demo.
Is commenting on or off by default?
For Arcades created before September 30, 2025, commenting is off by default.
For Arcades created on or after September 30, 2025, commenting is on by default.
How do I turn on commenting for an older Arcade?
Go to the
Preview
page of your Arcade.Scroll down to the layout and resources section.
Toggle on
Commenting
.Choose whether to enable commenting for all of your existing Arcades, or just this one.
Can I turn commenting off later?
Yes. You can toggle commenting off or back on at any time.
Using Commenting
Where do comments show up?
When commenting is enabled, a comment icon appears at the bottom right of the Arcade. Clicking it opens the comment panel.
What happens if there are no comments yet?
The panel will display a message: Be the first to share your thoughts.
What can commenters do?
Post comments after signing in
React with emojis
Attach files or images
Edit or delete their own comments
Subscribe or unsubscribe from threads
Can I resolve comments?
Yes. Admins and owners of the Arcade can resolve a comment by clicking Resolve comment
. Resolved comments can be reopened later if needed. Commenters and external viewers cannot resolve comments.
Can viewers see resolved comments?
Workspace members can view resolved comments.
External viewers (customers, prospects) cannot see resolved comments.
Sign-In Requirements
Do viewers need to sign in to comment?
Yes. Anyone who wants to leave a comment must sign in or sign up with Arcade. This ensures comments are tied to real users.
Will signing in force someone through full onboarding?
No. Signing in for commenting is lightweight and only verifies the user’s identity.
Notifications
How do notifications work for comments?
As the Arcade creator, you can choose your notification settings by clicking the three-dot menu:
Notify for every comment
Notify only when you are mentioned
No notifications
Where will I see notifications?
In your Arcade inbox
By email (when you are mentioned or when someone comments, depending on your settings)
Viewer Experience
What can external customers do with comments?
Once signed in, they can:
Add comments
React with emojis
Subscribe to threads
Edit or delete their own comments
Can external viewers attach files?
Yes, external viewers can attach images and files as part of their comments.
How do I collapse the comment panel?
Click the comment icon again, or click the arrow on the right-hand side of the panel to collapse it.
Mobile
Does commenting work on mobile?
Yes. Commenting is supported on mobile devices. Viewers can open the panel, add comments, and react just like on desktop.
Troubleshooting
Why can’t my customer leave a comment?
They may not be signed in yet.
Commenting may be turned off for the Arcade.
If they are viewing a resolved thread as an external viewer, they won’t see past resolved comments.
Do I get emails when customers comment?
Yes. You should receive email notifications when someone comments or mentions you, in addition to seeing it in your Arcade inbox.
Example Use Cases
When should I use commenting?
Collect feedback from customers while they view your Arcade.
Allow teammates who don’t have an Arcade account to leave input.
Use comments to run internal reviews of product demos.
Encourage prospects to ask questions directly inside a demo instead of via email.
